Paul Rand once said, “It is only by association with a product, a service, a business, or a corporation that a logo takes on any real meaning. It derives its meaning and usefulness from the quality of that which it symbolizes.”
And so began the process of creating a new logo for Yaletown Photography. This was a crucial part to the rebranding process as the logo needed to represent aspects of my business & creative process that were important to me. It also needed to resonate with my audience. So excited to finally reveal the new Yaletown Photography logo!
Going into the rebranding process one of the first things established was that I had been a photographer for over 15 years and wasn't a new kid on the block. Offering an exceptional photographic experience was important to communicate. It means working with a photographer who has experience and legacy behind her work. So it seemed fitting that a family crest was the inspiration behind the logo. Not only does it represent the legacy behind my work, but also my commitment to building long-term relationships with my clients.
Pride & Connectivity
The symbol of a Lion was chosen to anchor the logo. It symbolizes the great pride in my work and my pursuit to nurturing connection with my clients. Both of these aspects anchors what I do. Choosing geometric shapes in the Lion emphasizes the connectivity in my working relationship with each of my clients...nurturing connection to craft images that will perfectly tell their unique story.
I wanted the logo to have an strong yet elegant & sophisticated feel. One that symbolized true artistry, confidence & connectivity. I am proud to now call it the Yaletown Photography logo. Thank you so much to Phoebe Tsui of Love by Phoebe for designing this beautiful logo and walking me through a wonderful & educating rebranding exercise. Hope you like it and let me know what you think of it!
