Ah Fall...we all love seeing the leaves turn colour...we love the smell of the crisp air...and of course...we have to love the rain?? Boy did it sure rain a lot in October! So much so, we had to postpone a lot of our photoshoots, including our engagement session with Winnie & Mike.
I first met Mike when we photographed his sister Deirdre's wedding some 5 years ago. When it came time for him to tie the knot, we jumped at the opportunity to celebrate with this genuinely wonderful family once again and the wheels were in motion for us to photograph his wedding this coming Christmas holiday. First, we needed to do the engagement session and Winnie loved the idea of having the fall colours in the background for our session.
Due to the miserable rain, we had to postpone our first scheduled engagement session with them. On our second attempt to get together, it was pouring rain by midday. Not just 'rain', but 'cats and dogs rain'...sideways and up ways rain! I was very close to calling the session off due to the weather. Thankfully, the rain lifted by the time we started and we were welcomed with a bit of sunshine during our session! Truly a miracle indeed! Our first stop was to Stanley Park and we really captured some stunning images of the Fall colours in our images.
Of particular interest was when I had Mike & Winnie climb up this huge tree stump for a stunning shot of them in the forest. I was so impressed with their athleticism and willingness to trust me with these shots!
We had a wonderful afternoon with these two and cannot wait to celebrate their wedding this coming December!
