We'll Always Have Paris — Celebrating 10 years with the Rechlos | Paris Family Portrait Session

One of the most rewarding parts of what I do is building relationships with wonderful clients and having the tremendous privilege to journey alongside them. This has and will continue to be one of the main reasons why I photograph people, and it is with the greatest honour for me to celebrate life with each and every person I get to photograph. Today marks the 10 year wedding anniversary of my dear clients and friends, Janice & Dave. I’m so thrilled to be able to share their Paris Family Portrait Session on the blog today:)

Last year I  shared a photo on my Instagram account reminiscing about my time in Paris and how I wished to go back to do more photoshoots. Janice chimed in, and the idea of doing their 10 year wedding anniversary photos in Paris were set in motion. I'm so glad we were able to make it work and it was wonderful to reconnect with these two and their adorable little girls in the city of light this past March.

Now that the Rechlos live out of town, it's rare to have an opportunity to see them, and it was such a treat reconnecting with the girls seeing how they'd grown since the last time I spent time with them.  Different in personalities, yet equally beautiful and adorable as ever!! How easy to photograph such a stunning family!

I discovered that Dave had actually lived in Paris for a few years when he was younger, and it was lovely having someone so fluent in the French language to navigate us around the city. The girls were also excited to have chocolat chaud (hot chocolate in French:) after our photos were done. Despite the lovely sun, it was still quite cold in March with snow on the ground just a matter of weeks before we got into Paris!

This photo playing homage to a photo we took of Dave 10 years ago on their wedding day. Janice wanted to recreate it and plus, who doesn't want to pose against a wall that's several hundred of years old?!!

Passing by us at this exact moment were a bunch of French high school students on a field trip. You can here them saying 'aw, tres minion!', which means, you guessed it, VERY CUTE!!

To have spent the time with this family and to celebrate their10 year wedding anniversary in Paris was  a blessing and I’m so thankful to have such loyal supporters over the years. It really means a lot to me. It's always a gift to spend time taking photos of of my clients, and to do this in a gorgeous city like Paris is just icing on top of a huge 10 layer cake:) I feel incredibly blessed for the trust this family has given me over the years:)  Congratulations Janice & Dave!! xoxo
