Back in June I had an opportunity to spend a day in Venice and decided to arrange a portrait session for that morning. Having not been to Venice in over 27 years there were some landmarks that felt strangely familiar but I definitely felt like I needed a refresher. So I spent the later part of the afternoon prior to the shoot location scouting some interesting spots and getting reacquainted with this water city . In order to avoid the crowds I was up fairly early for my shoot with Lisa. You know, early bird does get the worm this time, especially when it came to some of the glorious morning light that spilled into the Piazza San Marco where we started our session.
Once we wrapped up shooting by Saint Mark’s square, we walked over to some other streets and canals less frequented by the throngs of cruise ship tourists. I loved this door that I discovered not far from our Airbnb when I was location scouting the day before.
After the photoshoot I had some time to explore the streets and spent some time walking through the city at night. What a glorious sight! If you’d never had a chance to visit Venice I would definitely recommend you make a stop in to see this very unique place. There’s truly nothing like it!
