On a beautiful Easter weekend, my associate Michele and I had the honour of photographing Natasha and Ryan's wedding celebrations. These high school sweethearts had recently taken gardening courses at the VanDusen Gardens and with their new found love of gardening, they couldn't think of a better place to get married.
This is one of my favourite shots Michele took of Natasha before heading off to the gardens. Natasha chose some beautiful spring colors for her bouquet and it blended beautifully with the gardens.
As I've mentioned in my previous posts, we've had a pretty cold winter and spring has definitely come late for us this year. I love shooting at VanDusen Gardens because there's usually so much floral variety to choose from. But about a week before the wedding, I had heard on the news that the blooms at VanDusen were about 3 weeks behind schedule. So I was a little concerned that we wouldn't be able to get any photos with Natasha and Ryan with some nice floral backdrops. Thankgoodness for fertilizer and some warmer weather that pushed out this canope of rodadendrums!
And of course, there's always the reliable bamboo!
Michele had a lot of fun with them running around in the maze. Love the energy in this shot!
I love spring weddings...it's the season for new beginnings and I'm thankful to have had witnessed a new beginning for Natasha and Ryan. Wishing them a lifetime of botanical bliss!
